Un tableau est avant tout une surface plane recouverte
de couleurs en un certain ordre assemblées.
Pour Dominik Billout, tout commence avec la boîte de peinture à l'huile offerte à l'adolescence par des parents doués de discernement. Peu de temps après, c'étaient les Beaux-Arts de Bourges, puis l'école Estienne à Paris. S'en est suivi trente années à faire des illustrations à Paris pour la presse, l'édition, la com, etc... Au tournant du siècle il retourne à sa passion première, la peinture qui le mènera à la gravure et aux monotypes, et pour finir à la litho, commencée à Angoulême.
A painting is essentially a flat surface covered with colors put together in a definite order.
It all started an oil paint set that his judicious parents offered him when he was an adolescent. Shortly after that he entered the Beaux-Arts school in Bourges, followed by the Estienne school in Paris. Upon graduation, during three decades in Paris he worked as an illustrator for magazines and newspapers, book publishers, and other medias, etc...
At the turn of the 21st century, he returned to his first passion, fine art painting, which lead him to practice engraving,monotypes and finally lithography which he started in Angoulême.
